This page explains the reader features introduced with the October 2026 magazine edition. Existing WordPress services, hosting and any separately configured plugins may have their own processing; this page does not certify every pre-existing integration.
Saved reading and colour theme
The reading list and light/dark preference use local storage in the browser where you choose them. The list contains the article identifier, title and public URL. These features do not send the list to Visa Daily or create an account. Clearing the list, browser storage or the relevant site data removes the stored items on that device. Browser bookmarks remain an alternative.
Search
A site search sends the search words to this WordPress website as a normal URL query. Please do not enter case identifiers, account credentials or other sensitive personal information into search.
Editorial messages
The contact form stores your message, any name, email and public article URL you provide, the time received, and your consent for editorial handling in a private WordPress record accessible to publication administrators. A reply is optional; an email address is required when you request one. Messages remain in the publication’s private inbox until its administrators remove them. No automatic email notification or newsletter subscription is added by this form.
To reduce repeated submissions, the server keeps a salted hash derived from the requesting network address for 90 seconds. The address itself is not added to the editorial message record. The hosting provider and existing website services may separately maintain routine server logs.
External services
The design loads fonts from Google Fonts and illustrative photographs from images.unsplash.com. Your browser connects to those services to request the assets. Following a source, specialist resource or share link takes you to that external service. A share is only initiated when you choose the relevant control.
No implied mailing-list subscription
Saving an article or sending an editorial message does not subscribe you to email. The magazine does not claim that an email was sent or that a newsletter registration succeeded.
Contact and individual circumstances
Use the publication contact page for editorial issues. Avoid sending passports, account credentials, financial documents or sensitive case details. Visa Daily is an editorial publication, rather than a secure casework portal.
